Fenton Rotary Club
Joe Reynolds,
former District Governor for this District “filled in” for the speaker who was
unable to make it. Joe went into some of
the reasons why he joined Rotary historically speaking. He joined the Genesee Valley Rotary Club in
1977. As with most Rotarians he joined
the Rotary Club in the beginning in an attempt to get new business and to meet
people in his own business, the banking business.
As an
interesting note Joe indicated he was the first United States District Governor
in 6 years. Fenton Rotary is part of a
District which includes more Canadian Rotary Clubs than United States Rotary
Clubs.
Some of the
upcoming Rotary Projects of where volunteers are solicited are some Boy Scouts
projects, which include an “adventure trip” and the appropriate way to burn the
United States Flag when it needs to be retired.
The Club is also looking for sponsors for the Christmas Trees for Bush
Park at Christmastime. However, the most immediate project is the Debates that
are coming up on October 17th and 18th.
