Fenton ArtWalk Artist Shannon Veurink to appear at Fenton United Methodist Church July 13th
Residence: I live in Waterford, Michigan and have been here for 8 years.
How did you get started as an artist? Shannonmade started about 5 years ago with a switch from all things fabric, designing for restaurants decor to sewing clothes for my children and our home decor. Then I made a few bracelets for my sis and from that time on I was hooked on beads and wire and leather, designing unique jewelry. Give me some gemstones and wire and I am a happy camper. All of my pieces are one of a kind, unless someone asks for multiples. When I sit down to create, I am never sure what will come. And for me that is the most exciting part of the process. I use copper wire to make statement pieces, leather to necklaces, bracelets, and tons of gemstones in most everything. Recently I have wire wrapped stones onto iron crosses and love that as well.

What is your next project?: My next project is a wall hanging for our home. And I am thinking that fabric and beads will be involved. I am so excited...
Where can you work be found?: My work is currently on my web site, Shannonmade, on Facebook, on Etsy and in Downtown Holly, in the Great Lakes Artisan Village store. I have been in the site for 18 months and love being there.
