Freddy and Tonya Visit The Fenton Winery & Brewery (FWB) - Part 3 of a 3 part series

Freddy Spaghetti and Tonya Lasagna (mystery diners who are real Fenton residents) review area restaurants.

Part 3 of a 3 part mini-series.  Well, not a mini-series, let’s call it a night out in Fenton.  Dinner, Play and Wine and entertainment

Here is part 3

Wow Tonya, whatta night we have had.  Good dinner at the Fenton House, a play by our own theater group, the Fenton Village Players and now to top it off with a bit-o-wine and entertainment at the Fenton Winery & Brewery.

Matt and Ginny Sherrow have taken their dreams and turned it into a booming little business soon to turn into a HUGE business in our little town of Fenton!  It will surely place Fenton on the wine touring and beer tasting maps.  I’ll explain more about that later.

Joe greeted us and asked us what we would like to order.  We know most of the wines but if you are new to the winery, Joe, Heidi and rest of the staff know all about the different wines and beers served at FWB.  He brought us a glass of our favorite and we sipped and enjoyed the live music which FWB provides for free every weekend.  All of the wait staff makes sure you are well taken care of and Sam(antha) was a hoot.  So upbeat and funny.  It is a pleasure to relax at FWB at the end of a long day.

Oh yeah…did we tell you about the food?  From fine cheese and fruit plates and sandwiches to decadent desserts, the winery has great small plate pairings to go with whatever you are drinking.

Ever wonder what a small winery and brewhaus looks like, on a slow day ask for a tour and Matt, Ginny or one of the knowledgeable staff members will show you around, it is amazing.

“Freddy, tell the readers about what the HUGE next step is for the Sherrow’s,”

“Oh yeah Tonya, how could I forget?”

“Remember the old Creative Wood Products building on North Long Lake Rd., Tonya? “

“Yeah, what about it?” Tonya questions.

“Matt and Ginny are going to be renovating that building and turning it into a great big winery and brewery!“

Matt and Ginny say immediate goals include using bigger equipment for increased production and the sale of ingredients and products for home brewing.  Long-term plans include opening a pub and establishing beer gardens (an open-air location where beer is served) on the five-acre property located at 1370 North Long Lake Road.

“That is absolutely fantastic Freddy, I did not know that.”

“Thanks for sharing that bit of fine news.”

“You are welcome Tonya, let’s go home.  It is 11 pm and way past my bedtime.”

“Ok Freddy, you drive, that glass of wine was too much for me.”

“Lightweight”, Freddy laughs to himself.
