Thank You to The Readers

This is my 50th missive for the Fenton Patch. The milestone could not have been attainable without you, the reader. A big thank you to everyone who has read one or more of my dispatches. Muchas gracias to all who have taken the time to leave a comment. You are wonderful.

Your reading has constantly kept my salad bowl of topics among the top reads. Many have often occupied a position on the list for two or more weeks. The garnered 59 recommends. I have received emails from readers on four continents and notes from many of those who graduated with me back in 1968.

When Fenton Patch editor, Jason Alexander, and I started discussing adding my two-cents to the publication, ten articles maximum were considered. We communicated about demographics, target market and publication focus. The Patch is considered hyper-local. Would readers accept things outside their sphere of direct influence? Based upon the ten initial writings Jason agreed to take the chance.

I have been very pleased to bring you that are more reflective of the nation and its people than what is usually presented by major U.S. media outlets. The six parts about Singapore were especially fun to share with readers. You have embraced topics ranging from travel to drugs, recipes and health. Because of that we have reached five times our initial thoughts on the number of articles.

Over my 40 years as a freelance writer, I can honestly say you are the most pleasurable audience to write for. Fenton is my hometown. It is where my memories were formed and where I got to know some of the most influential people in my life. I hope that these past compositions have brightened your day or helped you in someway.
