How We Rang in the New Year

Noah celebrated his adoption finalization by spending the weekend in the hospital with bacterial pnuemonia. Yikes!

Noah's adoption was finalized on Friday around 11 a.m.  There were 18 adoptions finalized in Oakland County that day and Noah's was the last adoption that was finalized in Oakland Co for the year 2011.  God saves the best for last!

I realized after posting my first post here at Fenton Patch last week, that I should have introduced myself a bit.  I'm Kim and I'm married to Ben and over the course of the last 12 years, we've adopted 12 beautiful children - from the US, Korea, China, and Liberia (W. Africa).  Our daughter Selah died after 55 days of an amazing life last year and so we currently have 11 children here on this earth with us, and one in heaven.  Ben grew up in Fenton and we moved back here four years ago.  To catch up on us if you are interested, check out our family blog at www.hishandshisfeettoday.blogspot.com.

Noah had a cold last week, but by Friday afternoon, he had spiked a fever and had become dehydrated.  So at 11 a.m. we were in court making him legally our son forever... and by dinner time we were in the emergency department at U of M and he was admitted shortly before midnight with bacterial pneumonia.  Yes, we rang in the New Year's weekend at the new children's hospital in Ann Arbor!  His, is a finalization we will never forget :).  He came home last night and is doing much better thankfully.

As we look forward towards 2012, we, like you, can guess what might occur... but truly, God alone holds our future in His hands.  We look forward to seeing His plans unfold in our lives this new year and we will take little things like trips to the hospital in stride... because He wastes nothing and there is a greater purpose in every step we take towards eternity with Him.
