Fenton Non-Profits Partner To Create Craft Fair Weekend

Fenton is known for a variety of great things, but now, thanks to a partnership between , the city is working to build a new reputation – as a weekend craft fair destination.

The large, well-known events, The State Road Arts & Craft Show and the Holiday Craft & Small Business Expo, have joined forces to take place on the same weekend, Nov.19 and 20.

“Getting the community involved is a great thing,” said Bonnie Leyder of the Fenton United Methodist Church. “We’re in the middle of downtown and we thought this would be a great opportunity to bring attention to both great events.”

Out of town visitors will enjoy group rate discounts during the Craft Fair Weekend at Fenton’s new Fairfield Inn, as well as other great deals from local businesses, including .

The weekend will kick off with the United Methodist Church Holiday Craft & Small Business Expo on November 19. More than 70 vendors will fill two floors of the church at 119 South Leroy Street, Fenton. Admission is just $2 with door prizes and food. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Fenton UMC’s Family Life Center and its Ministries.

The State Road Craft Show is now in its 36th year and features more than 160 juried vendors. The event benefits the PTO with the proceeds funding scholarships, books and supplies. It will take place at the Fenton High School at 3200 S Shiawassee in Fenton on November 20 from 10 am to 4pm.

“It’s really going to be a special weekend,” says Leyder. “A lot of people really love craft shows, and it’s great opportunity for visitors to come enjoy Fenton and all of the great places and events we have here.”
