Fenton Students to Help Rescued Allegan County Dogs

Many Fenton area school children will be walking Friday to help the rescued .

students helped organize a walk-a-thon to help the 25 puppies took in after what is considered the in the state as more than 350 mostly Shih Tzu and Pomeranian mixes were seized from an Allegan County Home.

"Even as a child, you can make a big difference," Tomek Eastern Elementary School Sara Eastman told the Flint Journal.

The event will start at 9:30 a.m. on April 20 at Tomek Eastern Elementary School.

The Fenton shelter took in 25 dogs Wednesday that were covered in “eight inches of dreadlocked poo,” said Adopt-A-Pet office manager Diana Gale.

She said most of the dogs have found foster homes and are awaiting medical care. Gale said about six dogs have been adopted into permanent homes.

“The outpouring of support is amazing,” Gale said. “People have been coming from everywhere to help out, adopt and just love on.”
