A Toast To Cheer The Day

...and with that little hope, so begins many sips of coffee and blinks of rest bathed eyes.

A writer, or a least a good writer can pick up a person right where they are sitting and make them actually be in the pictures written. In a little excercise of my own, I read a paragraph from a catalog that arrived day before...Ok....it arrived the day before the day before yesterday. I am sorry to say that I ignored the advice of a master unclutterer and did not 'immediately put it to use', or 'in the bin'. Not knowing then that I would try this little thing, either I failed or made way for a little bit of amusing writing.

I read with all attention placed, the actual words, and then turned it over and rewrote it in my mind from memory.

My Version.

A very pointy double ended, bit disapointingly blackened, silver ringlet that would rip my sweater if I hurried up and tried to change it. If anyone complimented this ring, it would be to ask, "Aren't you afraid it will snag your good sweater?

The photo that accompanied the description confirmed my thinking. The photographer did not raise my hope like the writer did.

Either this writer has a gift for words beyond the actual product, or my name isn't, what it is. 

Writing factually, without embellishment is next to impossible when trying to sell something. The best part of writing is when it costs neither the writer, nor the reader anything and still manages to make the day brighter.

May I offer this toast to your day. It comes from the lips of actress Reese Witherspoon as she plays aspiring lawyer El Woods in the movie, Legally Blonde. remember too that she is speaking to her chihauha Bruiser Woods.

"Just be yourself and everyone will like you."

If that doesn't make you feel very light and airy and uplifted I don't know what would.

Truth be told, I honestly don't need a Sterling Angel Wings Ring, but it made for a nice bit of thinking around it. I especially like the thought of wearing a smile on my face instead of wing on my finger.
