New And Improved or Hopefully Better Than The Last One

Having now posted twice when I meant to post once and also touching a button that noted my own comment. You are getting the new and improved, maybe a little wiser written post from a very confused me.

Confusion seems to be a universal condition in the world. Things that should come with instruction manuals often don't, and even if they did, we wouldn't read them before trying on our own to make the thing do what we would like.

My son is very proud of bringing me perplexing gadgets meant to either save me work, or time. For the most part they do not.We have been having the most vexxing problem with the tv volume. It is blaring the commercials and becomes too soft for anyone except the dog to hear when the selected program returns to air.

I know, there are laws both of reason and legal that should step in here but that gave way to just putting the volume up..and down...Up and down.

My son being the college educated professional, handed me a plastic packaged device guaranteed to solve my problem. My eyes are now rolling as I try for all I am worth to undrstand the tiny leaflet that came with this item. It is written very clearly and has every appearance of being simple to use and effective.

I could no more install it than I could program my vcr when it was new. Incidentally, we don't have to know how to do that anymore so time took care of the whole frustrating thing.

He didn't read anything...just monkeyed with it until everything looked right and then surfed channels trying to find out if it was functional. In my little way I calmly asked, "How do we KNOW if it's working or if the station has fixed the whole thing so we don't have to have this new thing?"

We don't.

We just know that at this time the problem has gone to wherever problems go when they cease to exist..and it's not a happy place if all those problems are lumped up together.

I have this problem now, and it's learning a new format to write in. I have blogged for years under another magazine site and I knew everything there was to know about that. In fact, I could type and post with my eye's shut and never look back. I knew where it would be and how it would appear and the audience I was writing for. If by some stretch of the imagination I make you laugh, or wonder...maybe you just nod and wink...I would love to know that. In fact, it will make my day.

Meanwhile...the tv is not blaring commercial and the program content is exactly as I expect it. Amazing...I think. I still wonder if that little device is working. Maybe it's just an oblong box with nothing inside it at all. Maybe I just THINK it's doing a useful service, just like I think I can write a word or two.

My son's fiance' had this to offer, afte reading my writing.

"How can a thing be both NEW and IMPROVED at the same time? Either it is one...or the other. The future of both my writing and my commercial squasher device hangs in the balance.

I have written before, hopefully gotten better and I am writing again.....walla! New and Improved. Older and wiser. I still can totally believe that margarine is simply...not butter, but hey, I have been a lot of places where I knew what it was  because my companions were really with me.

Oh go ahead and laugh...it's not illegal and it feels great. I won't mind, not one bit.
