Sometimes the news can get depressing.

Controversies, crime and child abuse are all issues that have been reported on by Fenton Patch. We realize these stories are necessary, but sometimes they don't exactly put a smile on your face.

Recently on the Fenton Patch Facebook Page, we've asked residents to share positive thoughts or tell us what makes them smile and we received several responses.

Holly Hodgkin posted that the Ambassadors won double gold at their competition in Chicago.

Holly DeMott posted, "I was in line at Tim Horton's this morning when the car in front of me paid for my order! Random acts of kindness are great!!! Thank you whoever you are!"

Jill Shaw-Dean said, "My daughter had ACL reconstruction in August & tonight she'll be pitching for the Fenton JV team against Lake Orion. Regardless of whether the team wins or loses, she wins!"

Breanne Clark posted, "I help in my son's classroom every week and today two of the children I help finally passed an area they have been struggling with!! They were full of smiles and so proud of themselves, and I am pretty proud of them too!! Kids are wonderful :)"

So we decided to do the same thing here.
