Active 'Crew' Still Burglarizing Homes in Area

The Livingston County Sheriff's Department says a rash of home break-ins have been reported in the vicinity of Orchardview Drive, Denton Hill Road, White Lake Road and Preserve Drive.

Authorities have zeroed in on video surveillance from a home in Fenton in the investigation of a “crew still actively doing break-ins” in the area.

A spate of break-ins have occurred in the vicinity of Orchardview Drive, Denton Hill Road, White Lake Road and Preserve Drive, the Livingston Daily reports. Video surveillance from an Orchardview Drive homeowner’s security camera shows a man entering her driveway in an older silver F-150 pickup that the resident, a 45-year-old woman, said matches a photograph she took at a residence on Silver Lake Road near the Marathon gas station.

When police impounded the vehicle after tracing it to a Fenton home, they discovered a cache of stolen items, including golf bags and clubs, a jewelry box, sports playing card and tools, the newspaper reported.

Livingston County sheriff’s officials have one suspect, a Holly man who is jailed on unrelated charges, but wouldn’t say if that individual is connected to the “crew” they believe is stll active in the area.

At least one handgun was stolen in the break-ins, according to the report. Authorities are still processing evidence collected in their investigation.
