Crime Report: Fenton Police Investigating Possible Embezzlement from Church

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fenton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police are investigating a possible embezzlement from a Fenton area church.

Police received a call from church officials reporting $10,000 in missing gift cards. The gift cards were part of a program where the church gave cards to those having financial difficulties.

Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said police are planning to interview employees and will be forwarding information to the prosecutor’s office.

Runaway juvenile

Fenton police apprehended a 16-year-old male Monday who had escaped from an Oakland County juvenile facility.

Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said police received a court order that a juvenile had escaped from a facility in Oxford and requested Fenton Police to pick up the subject on the 100 block of Georgetown Parkway.

When an officer attempted to contact the resident, another officer observed a subject crawling out a rear window of the apartment and took him into the custody.

Officers determined it was the 16-year-old juvenile and he was transported to the Oakland County juvenile center.
