Crime Report: Man Finds Intruder Sleeping in His Bathroom, Fenton Man Injured in Motorcycle Accident

The following arrest information was supplied by area police departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Fenton couple received an unwanted visitor in their home in the early morning hours after St. Patrick’s Day.

Chief Rick Aro said around 3 a.m. on March 18 a homeowner on the 1000 block of North Leroy Street awoke and noticed a light on in an adjacent home he also owned. The man told police the home was supposed to be unoccupied, so he went next door and found another man sleeping in the bathroom of the home. The man told police he woke up the intruder and ordered him to leave the home and he complied.

The man told police the intruder had taken a bag of frozen meat from the freezer and had it lying next to him in the bathroom. Aro said the homeowner reported he returned home and went back to sleep.

Aro said later on that day, the homeowner’s wife received a call from an acquaintance, indicating they had her prescription medication and clothing that had been left at the home by an intoxicated male that had been forced to leave a St. Patrick’s Day Party.  The woman told police she found that the medication had been taken from the vehicle outside the home.

Fenton Police were able identify the suspect, a 40-year-old Fenton man, who came into the police department later that day and admitted he was drunk and did sleep in the man’s bathroom, Aro said, but did not admit to taking the items from the vehicle.
