Crime Report: Police Investigating Strong-Arm Robbery

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fenton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police are still searching for a man they believe attempted to steal a computer from another man in Fenton.

Chief Rick Aro said a man reported he had listed a computer for sale on Craigslist and arranged a meeting with an interested buyer at a gas station on the 3000 block of Owen Road around 4 p.m. Monday.

The man told police the buyer approached him and discussed the computer before asking to see if it worked. Aro said the man reported he reached for the computer, when another man struck him in face and took the computer.  The man then told police he recovered and confronted the man who took the computer, which led to a fight. During the fight, the man dropped the computer and fled the scene, Aro said.

The man gave a description of the alleged attempted robber and police reviewed surveillance footage from the gas station as investigation continues.

Game Stop larcenies

Police are attempting to obtain an arrest warrant for an Indiana man they believe is responsible for multiple larcenies at Game Stop in Fenton.

Aro said on Sept. 4, a Game Stop manager placed a larceny complaint reporting that a suspect twice came into the store, on Aug. 25 and 27, and concealed items, including Nintendo Wii controllers and X-Box video games, and exited the store without paying for the items.

The manager told police he had talked with other Game Stop managers who had experienced similar incidents and they were able to identify the man.

Police are continuing the investigation.

The value of the merchandise take was $250.

Larceny of cigarettes

Police are still searching for a man they believe stole three cartons of cigarettes from  on the 400 block of North LeRoy Street.

Aro said Fenton police received a call from a manager at 9:20 p.m. Aug. 31 who reported a man had asked for three cartons of cigarettes and after they were placed on the counter, asked for a can a chewing tobacco. Aro said the manager reported when he reached for the chewing tobacco, the man grabbed the cigarettes and exited the building.

The cigarettes were valued at $122.

Police have no suspects, but did receive a description from a witness. The suspect was described as a white tall, thin male with dark hair in early 20s wearing a black baseball hat, black hoodie and brown shorts.

Larceny from a vehicle

A man reported a larceny from a vehicle to police on Sept. 2, Police said.

Aro said a Fenton man reported $10 worth of quarters and a small flashlight missing from his 2001 Chevrolet S-10, which had been parked on the 600 block of Forest Drive on the night of Sept. 1.

Police have no suspects.
