Crime Report: Men Arrested on Retail Fraud Charges, Stolen Liquor

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fenton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Fenton Police arrested three Flint residents on charges of retail fraud around 5 p.m. Feb. 27 at the .

Chief Rick Aro said police received a call from store employees about three people leaving the store with bulging coats.

Police confronted the first two suspects outside the store and Aro said the 57-year-old Flint man admitted to taking several pillow case packages, a set of sheets and an air ratchet. A 55-year-old Flint woman with him told police she had not stolen anything. Police searched the woman and found no stolen items, but she was placed under arrest. According to the report, a second 57-year-old Flint man then exited the store, before returning after he saw police and placed the items in the store.

The two men face retail fraud charges. Aro said both had outstanding warrants in other jurisdictions for other retail frauds as well.

The woman was released pending further investigation.

Stolen liquor

Police arrested a 28-year-old Mt. Morris resident on two counts of retail fraud on Feb. 26.

Aro said on two separate occasions, Feb. 22 and Feb. 26, a man had entered the liquor aisle at on Silver Parkway and was seen placing bottles of liquor in his coat and exiting the store without paying for the items. On Feb. 26, police were at the store on a separate retail fraud call, when the man entered the store and placed four bottles of liquor, valued at $200, inside his coat and exited the store without paying for them, Aro said.

Police arrested the man on retail fraud charges.

Missing camera

A 15-year-old Fenton resident reported his camera missing from a Fenton business on the 400 block of South Fenway Drive.

Aro said the boy reported he left the camera on a table when he went into restroom and returned to find it missing.

The report said the boy told police of three possible suspects. Aro said the boy told police he later saw the three suspects at McDonald’s in Fenton acting suspiciously.

Fenton officers are investigating the case and will interview the suspects, Aro said.
