Crime Report: Three Missing Vehicles Reported on Georgetown Parkway

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fenton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction

Police are investigating three missing vehicle complaints at Georgetown Apartments in the last two weeks.

The two most recent complaints occurred Aug. 13 and Aug. 15.

Chief Rick Aro said police received a complaint about a missing vehicle at 9 a.m. Aug. 15 from a resident at the 700 building of Georgetown Parkway. The resident told police she had parked her 1996 tan Buick Century the previous night and found it missing the next morning. Aro said there was no signs of forced entry.

Alcohol Violation at McDonald's

Fenton police were dispatched to the on Owen Road at 5 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, for an alcohol violation. Aro said the caller reported two people in a white Ford threatening a McDonald's employee.

A restaurant employee told police that staff were unloading a delivery truck, when one of the people in the white Ford attempted to scare a worker at the drive-through window. The second employee became involved in an argument with the subject in the vehicle, over the his alleged actions at the drive-through.

An officer located the vehicle in a nearby parking lot. One of the people ran from the vehicle, off to the north, while the second person stayed in the car. Officers did not locate the person who fled but interviewed the driver about the reported threats of assault.

The driver had a set of brass knuckles in his pocket and appeared intoxicated to the officers, Aro said. After taking sobriety tests, the driver, a 22-year-old male from St. John's, registered a .103 on a preliminary breath test. The legal limit is .08.

He was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and taken to the City of Fenton Police Department's lockup, where he was kept overnight. Another blood alcohol test was administered to him after his arrest.

The driver refused to identify the second person in the vehicle, and the alleged threats of an assault are under investigation.

Thefts from unlocked vehicles reported

Five larcenies from unlocked vehicles, in the area of Caroline and Howard streets in Fenton, took place overnight and into the early morning hours of Saturday, Aug. 6, Aro said. All of the vehicles were unlocked, and residents reported cash, jewelry, and personal items like iPods stolen. A substantial amount of money was left in some of the vehicles.

There are no suspects at this time, but a suspicious young person was spotted a few days before the larcenies, Aro said. "We will be increasing patrols in that area."

Police hope to find suspects and possibly catch someone in the act.

Resident calls police about prowler

At 1:45 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, Fenton police were dispatched to the 800 block of Silver Lake Road, for a report of a prowler. The officer exited the vehicle and approached the residence from the rear of the houses and back yards, Aro said.

He said he observed a man pushing a bicycle and stopped the subject, obtaining his identification. The officer asked the man about the bike.

The subject replied he'd been at a local tavern and needed a ride, so he borrowed the bike from a friend. He pointed to the residence from which the call was made to police.

The officer said he followed the suspect's tracks back to an adjacent residence, finding that the man took the bicycle from the garage there without permission from its owner, Aro said. In addition, the owner of the bike did not know the suspect.

The bike, valued at $100, was returned to its owner, and the suspect, a 32-year-old man from Burton, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering the garage.

He was lodged overnight in the Fenton lockup.
