Fenton Fire Department Recieves Rusty Piece of History

Department obtains piece of metal from the Sept. 11 attacks.

The wanted a piece of history they could take into schools and show off.

What they received was definitely a piece of history, but also a big, rusty chunk of metal.

The department recently obtained a piece of metal from the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks at the World Trade Center. However, Fire Chief Robert Cairnduff was hoping for a little bit more of an impressive piece that he could show school children, but still plans to do something with the historical artifact.

One option includes a monument in front of the fire hall.

Carinduff said they are hoping to obtain another piece.

“We’ve applied for another piece, but I don’t know if we will get it,” Cairnduff said. “We are hoping for a piece of fire equipment.”
