Fenton Man Charged with Heroin Possession, Teens Caught After Dine and Dash

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fenton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

arrested a 35-year-old Fenton man on charges of possession of heroin after he attempted to enter beauty salon on Silver Lake Road near Fenway Drive Thursday.

Officers arrived on scene around 9:45 p.m. and found the individual standing near the salon.  Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said the man appeared to be highly intoxicated, lethargic and almost falling asleep while talking to the officer. Aro said He was not able to stand and needed assistance in walking.

Aro said officers gained permission to search him and found a paper packet of suspects drugs, which was tested on the police department and determined it was heroin.

Dine and dash

Police arrested three Fenton teens on charges of a dine and dash after they said the teens ate a $54 dollar dinner and and then fled around 6 p.m. June 19.

Aro said a waitress gave a description of the suspects to the owner of the restaurant, who left the business to look for them and found them near West and Ellen Streets. Two of the suspects ran away, but the owner was able to grab and detain the third suspect.

Police arrive and arrested the suspect, who gave police several false names before they were able to identify him, Aro said. Police were familiar with the subject and able to identify the other two suspects, who were also arrested.

The suspects, two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old, were released to their parents and given notices to appear in court.

Stolen rototillers

Police are searching for suspects in a rototiller theft from Tractor Supply that occurred around 1:15 am June 21.

Aro said an outdoor cable had been cut the rototillers valued at $800 each were missing.

Retail fraud

Police arrested a 36-year-old Fenton man on retail fraud charges after security officials told police he took a $300 computers from the store without paying for it around 7:15 p.m. on June 19.

Walmart officials showed police video footage of the incident and Aro said the officer recognized the suspect and was able to make contact with him in a nearby trailer park.

He denied any involvement in the case, but police found he had an outstanding felony warrant for possession of heroin and was turned over to Grand Blanc Township police.

Aro said police are pursuing a warrant on the retail fraud charges.
