Fenton Police Arrest Man After Scuffle with Officer

Fenton Police arrested a 45-year-old Fenton resident for a noise violation and resisting arrest after a physical altercation with a police officer Sunday.

Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said police received a noise complaint from a resident on the 100 block of Trealout Drive. Police made contact with the suspect and told him he was violating the city noise ordinance. Aro said the man became upset with police officers before they left the home.

Police receive the another noise complaint from the same location around 2 a.m. Jan. 27 stating that someone in the apartment complex was making a lot of noise that sounded like a large rock being dropped on the floor and it was scaring small children, Aro said.

Police again made contact with the suspect and told him he was in violation of the city noise ordinance. Aro said the resident became agitated and started swearing and making threatening statements about the complainants. He then threatened the police officers, according to the report, and then made physical contact with the officer. Police arrested the man after a short physical altercation, and he taken to the Genesee County Jail, Aro said.

On the way to the jail, the man began banging his head against the window of the patrol car and had to be further restrained, Aro said.

The man has been charged with resisting and obstructing police and a noise violation.
