Fenton Police Ticket Teen for Marijuana Possession, Missing Safe Reported

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fenton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Fenton Police ticketed a 17-year-old Linden resident for possession of marijuana on Feb. 17 after a traffic stop.

Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said police received a call around 11:50 p.m. about the possible theft from a vehicle on the 900 block of Granger Street.

Police responded to the area and officers observed a vehicle speeding away on North Leroy Street, the report said. Police officers conducted a traffic stop and observed individuals switching locations inside the car, Aro said, which raised suspicions from the officer.

A 28-year-old Fenton resident reported a safe missing from her home on the 1000 block of East Street on Feb. 20.

Aro said a woman told police she went to retrieve something from the safe and discovered it was missing from her closet. She reported that it contained personal documents, mementos and a large amount of cash, Aro said.

The report stated that there was no forced entry into the home. Aro said the woman believed her ex-boyfriend might have been responsible. Police contacted the ex-boyfriend who said he was now employed a different state and he denied any involvement in the theft, Aro said.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
