On Tuesday, the court sentenced Forney's wife, Kandis Forney, 25, to six years in prison for her role in covering up the murder, including the use of her van to transport the body, the whio.tv.com article stated.

“I regret that I wasn’t strong enough to pick up the phone and say ‘Hey, this is what happened’,” Kandis Forney said, according to the Dayton Daily News. “Nothing I do now will take any of that back, and I understand that.”

Puccio stabbed and suffocated around March 22 inside of her apartment in Urbana, OH, about 40 miles northwest of Columbus. The Forneys had moved from Fenton to Urbana and were roommates with Puccio in the duplex where Sacco was killed. Two others were also sentenced for their role in the case.

"We would note that for all four co-defendants of Mr. Puccio that each of them had the opportunity to save a life and not only did they reject saving that life, but they recklessly failed to notify law enforcement even after Puccio and the Forneys left Urbana," Champaign County Prosecutor Nick Selvaggio said, according to the Urbana Daily Citizen.
