Fenton Woman Tells Police Ex-Boyfriend Stole, Sold Truck

Police list vehicle as missing, since woman does not want to file charges.

A 26-year-old Fenton woman told police her ex-boyfriend stole her car, but didn’t want to file any charges, so police have listed the car as missing.

Chief Rick Aro said the woman reported someone took her 1999 GMC Sierra from a residence on the 1000 block of North Lemen Street between 11 p.m. June 20 and 9 a.m. June 21. Aro said the woman told police her ex-boyfriend may have been responsible because he texted her to report the vehicle stolen. Aro said the woman told police the ex-boyfriend later told her he took the vehicle and sold it for drug money.

Aro said police entered the vehicle missing in the Michigan Law Enforcement Information Network, but are limited in what they can do because she did not want to prosecute.
