Man Arrested in Connection with Bomb Threat Charges

Threat caused Lake Fenton schools to go on lockdown Nov. 4.

Police have arrested a suspect on charges of a bomb threat made to Genesee County Schools, which put Lake Fenton Community Schools in lockdown Nov. 4.

Police have issued a warrant for a 32-year-old Burton man, according to WNEM TV 5, on charges of making a terrorist threat, a 20-year felony.

The Tri-County Times reported there was a bank robbery the same day in Burton and police believe the bomb threat might have been a distraction for the robbery.

during the day of the bomb threat just before 1 p.m. Police received call from a man that said "five dirty bombs" were in Genesee County Schools, but no bombs were found.

Fenton Patch readers responded on the Fenton Patch Facebook page that call went out Lake Fenton and Fenton parents around 2 p.m. the day of the threat.
