Man Sent to Hospital After Crash on Owen Road

Driver turns left in front of another vehicle, suffers minor injuries.

Rescue crews transported one man to Genesys Regional Medical Center after a two-car collision on Owen Road around 4 p.m. Monday.

officer Dan Forbush said a vehicle traveling westbound turned left into Speedway in front of another vehicle traveling eastbound on Owen Road near US 23.

The man turning left was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries, Forbush said. He was ticketed in the accident.

The other driver had a cut on his arm, Forbush said.

Traffic was slowed in the area while crews cleaned up the incident.

Ticketed for turning left where no left turn is permitted? Good. Also tired of the people who exit out through that spot which is entrance only from eastbound Owen. Especially when they're blocking the entrance then look at you with contempt when you have to squeeze by.

Question; why was this breaking news?

Richard took the words out of my mouth. I was passing through right after the accident and there were people trying to exit from there. It seems like every time I pass by there is a close call because of people turning where they shouldn't. I almost got hit yesterday because someone was turning left into Taco Bell after the light and he was in my lane coming right for me. Right after that someone shot out from the entrance only from Speedway and made multiple people have to slam on their breaks. Too many stupid people make it a scary stretch.

We need to revisit all those exit only pavement cuts with a traffic specialist. (sorry, not the one Fenton currently uses) When these sites come before the Planning Commission residents need to attend the meetings and state the problems with exit only driveways. Our PD could write tickets all day at Taco Bell and Speedway. Get tough and let people know they'll get ticketed if they continue to sue these exits to enter.

Fenton DDA or MDOT needs to put a median from Walmart to Fenton High on Owen rd. How many accidents have to happen to justify action?
