Mother and Son Recovering from Crash

Son has been released from the hospital, mother remains in treatment.

A mother and her 15-year-old son are recovering after a on Owen Road Thursday.

Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said the son has been released from the hospital and while the mother remains in care, she is stable.

Aro said they were traveling eastbound on Owen Road and attempting to turn left into the Speedway gas station, 3340 Owen Road in Fenton, around 5 p.m. Thursday. One car stopped in the near lane and waved for the vehicle to proceed. The car began making the turn when it was broadsided by a pickup truck traveling in the far lane.

Both the mother and the son had to be extricated from the vehicle. Another male passenger in the backseat was unharmed.
