Police Blotter: Drug Awareness Program, Missing Wii Recoverered

Here is a look at the city of Fenton Police action from April 5 to April 8.

At 7 p.m. April 13, the will put on a Drug Awareness Program at .

The program will include presentations from the Fenton Police as well as the Flint Area Narcotics Group. It will include showing examples of drug paraphernalia and indications of drug use.

Herbert Winfrey, from a Genesee County-based prevention treatment center – Hope Network, will speak to parents about drug prevention and services available. There will also be a question and answer session at the end of the program.

The program is being presented in response to the drug deaths of . It is a different program, however, than the "" presentation that was put on recently at .

Police recover stolen property

A 51-year-old Fenton female found nearly $2,000 worth of property, that Fenton Police believe to have been stolen, in her apartment on April 5, police said.

She found several items, include GPS devices and tools, inside her home on the 900 block of Granger Road and told police she believe her son’s friend may have placed them there, said Fenton Police Lt. Jason Slater.

Police were able to identify one of the suspects and arrested an 18-year-old Fenton man, who is a friend of the woman’s son.

Slater said police discovered the teen was responsible for the . The gaming console had been sold to a local gaming store, but will be returned to the woman, Slater said.

Slater said police believe four other people may have been involved in the larceny spree, which occurred from April 2 to 5 when police believe the group went to certain areas and took whatever they could from unlocked vehicles.

The incident is still under investigation.

 Missing GPS, DVD player

Police responded to a larceny complaint at 7 p.m. April 7 on the 600 block of North Adelaide Street.

A 39-year-old Fenton woman reported that someone had taken a GPS system and a DVD player from her vehicle sometime between April 5 and 7.

Police have no suspects.
