Man Arrested on Retail Fraud Charges After Taking Pocket Knives, Mountain Dew

The following information was provided by the Fenton Police Department; an arrest does not necessarily indicate a conviction.

Man Arrested for Theft of Pocket Knives, Mountain Dew

arrested a 22-year-old man at 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday, after a retail fraud complaint at in the 3700 block of Owen Road in Fenton, said Sgt. Dave Reinfelder. Store security personnel stopped the man after they say he concealed two pocket knives and two cans of Mountain Dew and attempted to leave through the lawn and garden area, the police report said.

It would be third degree retail fraud for the suspect, which is a 90-day misdemeanor, Reinfelder said. Fenton police arrested the man and brought him to the station, where he later confessed and was held in the lockup for two hours, police said. The suspect was released with a ticket to appear in court on Oct. 15.

Larceny from auto

Fenton police say customer who parked a vehicle at in the 16000 block of Silver Parkway, on Sept. 7 returned on Tuesday and found her catalytic converter missing. Reinfelder said the customer left on Sept. 7 in a rented vehicle, and when she returned and drove her own vehicle away on Tuesday, her 2005 silver Cadillac made a very loud noise. It was due to the catalytic converter being removed, the police report said.
