Police Blotter: Stores Report a Bad Check, Embezzlement

Here is a look at Fenton police action from Wednesday through Friday. The arrest information was supplied by the Fenton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police received a complaint of a bad check from employees at Cycle Fit, 1006 N. Leroy St., on Wednesday.

Chief Rick Aro said a customer purchased a bike with a check on April 27 for $349.79. On May 4, the check was returned for nonsufficient funds, Aro said. Store employees told police they unsuccessfully tried to contact the customer.

The incident is under investigation.

Embezzlement

Police responded to an embezzlement complaint at , 1367 N. Leroy St., on Wednesday.

Aro said a manager told police he believed an employee stole several items and cash from the store. Aro said the manager showed an officer surveillance video.

The officer and manager then confronted the employee, who admitted to stealing items, Aro said. He added that the employee was terminated and police escorted him from the store. Aro said that the total value of items reported stolen was $575.
