Fenton Police Cite Underage Drinker

The following information is provided by the Fenton Police Department; an arrest does not necessarily indicate a conviction.

Fenton police cited a 20-year-old Linden resident for underage drinking after a 3:45 a.m. traffic stop on Sunday, said Chief of Police Rick Aro.

Officers stopped the 1999 Audi the man was a passenger in after noticing it had a loud muffler, he said. The car was on Silver Lake Road, near Silver Parkway in Fenton.

The officer who spoke with the driver, also a 20-year-old Linden man, and detected a strong odor of alcohol inside the car, the police report said. The driver took a preliminary breath test, which showed he apparently had not been drinking. Aro said the passenger’s blood alcohol level was more than the legal limit, and he was not 21 years of age.
