Police: Excessive Speed a Factor in Fatal Crash

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fenton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police continue to that occurred Monday on U.S. 23 near Owen Road.

Chief Rick Aro said it appears the man driving the Oldsmobile Bravada, who died in the incident, was driving too fast and unable to slow down before crashing into a Chevrolet Suburban that had come to nearly a complete stop because of a construction zone.

Fenton Police arrested a 19-year-old Linden man for underage drinking after they found him walking eastbound in the middle of Owen Road near Jennings Road around 1:45 p.m. Sept. 26.

Aro said police made contact with him and noticed a strong odor of intoxicants. The man failed sobriety tests and registered a 0.2 on the preliminary breath test, which is more than twice the legal limit of .08.

Police gave him a notice to appear in court and he was held at the police department until his father came to pick him up.

Missing GPS

A Fenton woman reported her GPS missing from her 2005 Toyota after she had entered the between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 26, Aro said.

The GPS was valued at $320.

Police have no suspects.
