Monday 12 p.m.

A 56-year-old Fenton man was killed in a fatal car crash on Friday night in an accident that police believe might have involved alcohol.

Roger Miles was struck while driving his 2011 Dodge Caliber by a 32-year-old female driver whose name has not been released, according to the Press and Argus. The accident occurred around 10 p.m. on the corner of Fenton Road near Clyde Road in Hartland.

Miles was pronounced dead at the Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, according to the Press and Argus.

Hartland Patch readers commented on the Hartland Patch Facebook page about the accident Saturday morning after Adrienne Palugyay Conner commented on the page saying she heard the crash from her home.

"I'm three houses just east of that corner and heard it from my family room," Conner wrote.

Many residents expressed their sorrow over hearing of the fatal accident and also their concerns over that intersection.

"That is a horrible intersection," Deb Whitson wrote on the Facebook page. "I see cars slide through that stop there all the time. I'm so sad to hear about this accident."

"I'm surprised no kids waiting for the bus have been hurt on this street," Patch reader Sharon Wolff wrote. "Those cars fly down the road. Unfortunately when I called the township a few years back, they said the speed limit is 50 on all roads and most of the people do at least 50 or more coming down that hill.

Some residents wrote they would like to see a stop light installed at the intersection, including Conner.

"I wrote to the Township, MDOT and Department of Public works today requesting a stop light or a street light at the very least at that intersection," Conner wrote. "I've only lived here for a year so I'm not really sure how this all works yet, but I'm hoping they will consider it."

Funeral arrangements for Miles will take place at the MacDonald's Funeral Home in Howell. Details are still pending.
