Police: Vandals Damage Fenton High School with Flammable Devices

No one injured in incident.

Police are investigating a vandalism incident at Tuesday morning after someone threw homemade flammable devices at two different windows.

Fenton Police Chief Rick Aro said the devices did not penetrate the windows and no one was injured, but the windows were cracked and there was some fire damage to the building.

Aro said police met with maintenance workers around 8 a.m. Tuesday and believe the incident happened between 6:30 p.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police reviewed video surveillance footage and Aro said there was suspicious activity with a pickup truck around midnight. He said the video footage is still under review and police have no suspects.

Aro said the devices were made from Seagram’s Jamaican Me Happy wine cooler bottles and were thrown at windows on the south side of the building. He said police also observed graffiti on the school and some minor damage to a driver’s education car.

“We are very concerned and will be following up on this,” Aro said.
