Police: Woman Drinks Stolen Wine While She Shops

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fenton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police received a complaint from security at noon on Oct. 16 about a woman allegedly consuming miniature bottles of wine while she was shopping.

A Walmart security official told police they had observed the woman consuming approximately 10 of the small bottles when she entered the check out line and paid for other items, but not the wine.

Chief Rick Aro said police responded and the woman told police she had been recently released from an alcohol treatment center.

Window smashed

Police said they believe someone used a log to break a window at around 3:40 a.m. Oct. 20 and are investigating the incident.

Aro said a newspaper deliveryman reported the broken window to police, who believe someone gained entry to steal lotto tickets and cigarettes.

Police are reviewing the surveillance footage, which revealed a compact royal blue pickup truck with aluminum rims in the parking lot during the break-in

The case remains under investigation.

Missing motorcycle

Police are looking for the relative of a man who may have taken a motorcycle without permission.

Aro said a resident on the 700 block of Elmwood Drive reported his 1998 Honda Valkyrie missing from his garage on Oct. 19. The man told police he also found a handwritten note signed by a relative attached to the wall, but the relative allegedly took the motorcycle without the resident’s knowledge or consent.

Police have been unable to contact the relative. The motorcycle is valued at $7,000.

The case remains under investigation.
