Crime Report: Woman Transported to Hospital After Rollover Crash on US 23, Teen Cited for Underage Drinking After Found Sleeping in Car

Rescue workers transported a woman to the hospital after a rollover crash on U.S. 23 Sunday.

Chief Rick Aro said an 18-year-old Grand Blanc woman drove onto the entrance ramp on northbound U.S. 23 off Owen Road around 9:30 p.m. when she realized she was driving too fast, the car started to shake and she lost control of her 2003 Ford Focus. The vehicle left the roadway and ended up on flipped its roof.

She transported to Genesys Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. She was wearing a seatbelt.

Teen cited for underage drinking after found sleeping in car

Fenton Police ticketed a 17-year-old Fenton male after he was found sleeping in his vehicle in the parking lot on Owen Road around 2:45 a.m. Sunday.

Aro said an officer observed the teen sleeping in the vehicle while on patrol and smelled alcohol during an interview. The officer issued a preliminary breath test, which confirmed the teen had been drinking, Aro said.

Police ticketed him for underage drinking and transported him to his parents.
