Teenager Suffers Serious Injuries in Owen Road Crash

Mother and son are transported to hospital after son is extricated from the vehicle.

A two-car accident sent a mother and her teenage son to the hospital Thursday evening.

Chief Robert Cairnduff said a car was traveling east on Owen Road and was attempting to turn left into the Speedway gas station, 3340 Owen Road in Fenton, when it was broadsided by a pickup truck. He said the son had to be extricated from the car.

He said both the mother and son were transported to Genesys Regional Medical Center.

“The son had serious injuries,” Cairnduff said.

The incident occurred just before 5 p.m.

The accident backed up traffic on Owen Road while crews cleaned up the scene.

The did not return phone messages Friday morning seeking updates on the condition of the patients.
