Crime Report: Teens Arrested on Charges of Stealing Trading Cards, Tires Slashed

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fenton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police are investigating an incident of slashed tires near the 4000 building of the Silver Arbor Apartments.

Chief Rick Aro said a 20-year-old Fenton woman reported someone slashed the rear passenger side tire on her 2002 Honda between 6 p.m and 1:30 a.m. on May 1.

The woman told police her ex-boyfriend might have been responsible for the damage. Aro said police interviewed the suspect, but he had an alibi and said he was not responsible.

The case is still under investigation.

Stolen catalytic converter

A 44-year-old Fenton resident told police someone took his catalytic converter from his van sometime between 5:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday from the car pool lot on Silver Lake Road, Aro said.

The catalytic converter is valued at $200.

Police have no suspects.

Retail fraud

Fenton Police arrested three suspects on charges of retail fraud after it is believed they took trading cards out of the package and slipped them into boxes of Legos at and left the store with paying for the cards.

Aro said police arrested the teenagers, a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old from Swartz Creek and a 17-year-old from Grand Blanc, and later gave them a notice to appear in court.
