Two Car Crashes Occur Within Minutes on Main Street

An elderly woman suffered minor injuries in one of the accidents.

Rescue crews transported one woman to the hospital after a three-car crash on Main Street just west of North Lemen Street that followed a two-car crash that occurred in the same area just minutes earlier.

Fenton Police Officer Dan Forbush said police made a drunken driving arrest after a vehicle heading south on North Lemen Street pulled out into traffic on Main Street around 5 p.m. Tuesday and struck an eastbound vehicle. No one was injured in the crash.

However, another accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the same area.

"We had just cleared the scene when we heard a bang," Forbush said. "A driver wasn't paying attention. He was watching us and struck the car in front of him."

The impact from the crash caused the second car to crash into the rear of a third vehicle. Rescue crews transported an elderly woman to Genesys Regional Medical Center with a minor chest injury, police said. Police ticketed the man that caused the accident for failing to stop.
