Two Drivers Cited After Collision at U.S. 23 and Silver Lake Road

Witnesses said the accident happened when both drivers disregarded yellow light at intersection, police say.

Both drivers were cited for failure to yield after a 3 p.m. at Silver Lake Road and the U.S. 23 ramp in Fenton on Tuesday. Witnesses said the accident occurred when both drivers disregarded the yellow light at the intersection, said Chief Rick Aro.

The driver of a 2000 Chevrolet Impala, a 39-year-old Lake Orion man, had minor injuries and was taken to Genesys Regional Medical Center by Aro said. The Lake Orion man was wearing his seat belt. The other driver, a 39-year-old Fenton man with a 1995 GMC pickup truck, was not injured.

Both vehicles sustained major damage, Aro said.

The driver of the Impala was facing west and turning left onto the southbound U.S. 23 ramp, he said, while the second driver was traveling east on Silver Lake Road through the intersection.
