Watch Out for Fake $5 Bills, Fenton Police Warn

A significant number of counterfeit bills have been identified in the area, according to the Secret Service in Saginaw.

Fenton Police are warning residents to look out for counterfeit $5 bills.

The Secret Service in Saginaw has advised local police departments that there have been a significant number of counterfeit $5 bills in the area, according to an article at mlive.com.

The counterfeit bills have all had the serial number HF06555252C, according to the report. Residents can call Fenton Police at 810-629-5311 for more information.

The Secret Service offers information and photos on its web site to help identify counterfeit money.

"Look at the money you receive. Compare a suspect note with a genuine note of the same denomination and series, paying attention to the quality of printing and paper characteristics," the site states. "Look for differences, not similarities."
