Dominick's Law Supporters Continue to Fight for Bill

After rally, supporters asking residents to email representatives.

Dominick Calhoun's family and supporters of Dominick's Law held a public rally on Oct. 13 at the Lansing capitol building.

The supporters are continuing to fight to see stiffer penalties for those convicted of child abuse. A copy of the bill, which was presented to Rep. Paul Scott (R-Grand Blanc) on April 28, 2010, is available on Facebook.

Supporters of the law, including the Dominick's Law Facebook Page, are asking residents to email a letter to representatives, asking them to vote yes for the bill.

Dominick's mother, former Tyrone Township resident Corrine Baker, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and second-degree child abuse for her involvement in the boy's death. Baker's boyfriend, Brandon Hayes, awaits trial for murder. Hayes is accused of beating Dominick to death over several days, after the boy accidentally wet himself.
