Fenton Council Approves Taste in Fenton

11th annual restaurant 'tastings' will be at Fenton Community & Cultural Center again

Fenton City Council has approved the 11th Annual Taste in Fenton, slated for Saturday, Aug. 13 at the

The event is scheduled from noon to 8 p.m. and will feature "tastes" of area restaurants' specialties, in exchange for tickets guests purchase. The Fenton Regional Chamber of Commerce is holding the event, which will have access to the entire grounds of outside the community center. In addition, the entrance leading into the public parking lot will be closed for the event.

President Shelly Day, of the chamber, said she would like to have 20 or even more restaurants participating. There have been 15-20 the last few years.

Almost all of the sponsorship levels are full, as people are signing up for advertising opportunities surrounding Taste in Fenton. But there is a new feature this year that still needs a sponsor, Day said. This will be putt-putt golf.

"It's coming along really well," she said. "Everything else will be similar to last year."

Taste in Fenton took place for the first time last year at the community center. It went well, and the event can be moved inside the community center in case of bad weather, she said.

Two years ago, Taste in Fenton did not take place due to a storm.
