Fenton Council Likely to Schedule Public Hearing on $10 Million Fenton Wellness Center

The public hearing would be on March 25, if approve by Fenton City Council Monday.

Several Fenton residents haven been waiting to voice their displeasure to Fenton City Council about a proposed for Fenton.

They will likely get their chance next month.

Fenton officials are likely to reschedule a public hearing on the topic for March 25. The city council has to approve the public hearing at tonight's meeting.

In August, MediLodge submitted a proposal to Fenton officials for a "next generation" $10 million-plus senior citizens' skilled nursing and rehabilitative services facility, in a vacant area of a Fenton subdivision. The proposed development would be on 30 acres of the Pine Creek North Planned Unit Development, on the townhouse portion of the site closest to the Eddy Lake Road entrance.

Some Fentons resident told Fenton Patch they don't believe the facility would be a good neighbor.

“Our main concern is the increased traffic in the neighborhood,” said Rachel Oberle. “Medilodge looks like a perfectly fine facility, but it shouldn’t be in a residential area.”
