Fenton Hosting Streetscape Project Information Sessions

Event to be held Jan. 18.

Changes are on the way to Downtown Fenton.

Beginning in 2013, a will update the look of the downtown district with new sidewalks, curbing and design features. The and the Fenton DDA invite local residents, businesses and patrons of Downtown Fenton to attend informational sessions on January 18 to learn all about it.

“This streetscape project is going to bring many wonderful long term benefits to our downtown,” said Fenton DDA chairman Craig Schmidt. “In the short term, however, construction always presents a challenge for merchants and visitors. The better prepared we are all, the easier it will be.”

Two informational sessions will be held on January 18, 2012 at Fenton City Hall at 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Everyone in the public is welcome to attend to learn details about the project and the Fenton DDA’s efforts to make the transition a smooth one for all.

“We’ve already begun talking about how we can help the merchants and visitors with extra signage, promotions, parking management and detours,” said Schmidt. “We can do a lot of things to keep spirits high and to make shopping and dining in Downtown Fenton a great experience from start to finish.”
