Fenton Township's Tony Brown Hopes to Join Genesee County Board of Commissioners

Brown has served as a Fenton Township Trustee for eight years.

Fenton Township trustee Tony Brown believes he’s ready for the next step.

And he wants that next step to be working with the Genesee County Board of Commissioners.

Brown will run for the sixth district seat in November.

“I like the challenge of going into the county and making positive changes,” Brown said. “There are some budgetary woes and I think I can shed some light on what needs to be done.”

He has served on the for eight years. He is also the CEO and president of , Inc. and is founder of the Tri-County Debate League. He graduated from in 1989 and works as a manager for an adhesive company. He is married to Sonya Brown and has two children Alex and Corinne.

Brown believes the budget and law enforcement are two major issues facing Genesee County.

“If we are not taking care of crime, we are shooting ourselves in the foot,” he said.

Brown, a Republican, put his name in the hat for the seat last month to replace Joe Graves, who won of Representatives seat, but the board . Shaltz’s partial term is up in November.

“I think I can help everyone work together and make it a better working environment,” Brown said. “I am experienced and have the knowledge to get the job done. My record will show I’m there for public service, I’m not there to be self serving.”
