Grand Blanc Olympian Geena Gall Honored at State Capitol

Gall competed in the 800 meter race in the 2012 Olympics in London.

State Rep. Joseph Graves honored local track and field Olympian Geena Gall on the House floor this week.

Grand Blanc native Geena Gall competed in women's track and field events at the 2012 Olympics in London. Gall earned a spot on Team USA after posting a personal best time at the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials in June.

In London, Gall qualified for the semifinals of the women's 800-meter race. Unfortunately the Michigan athlete suffered an injury during the semifinal race and was unable to compete in further rounds.

"I am proud to honor a local athlete for her outstanding Olympic achievements and dedication to her sport," said Graves, R-Argentine Township. "Athletes go through years of extensive training to qualify to represent Team USA and compete for our country at the Olympic Games. Geena has a lot to be proud of and I look forward to watching career leading up to the 2016 Olympic games."
