Joe Graves Sworn in as 51st District Representative

Graves represents the 51st House District which includes parts of Genesee County and Oakland County.

State Rep. Joe Graves, R-Argentine Township, today was sworn into office as a state representative for the 51st District as the 97th Legislature began in Lansing.

Lt. Gov. Brian Calley administered the oath of office to Graves, who was joined by his wife Denise, son Mike and daughter Kelly.

Graves represents the 51st House District which includes parts of Genesee County and Oakland County, including Argentine, Atlas, Fenton, Flushing, Gaines townships, Linden city and part of Fenton city. Within Oakland County Rep. Graves represents part of Fenton city and the townships of Groveland, Holly and Rose.

He beat out Democrat Steven Losey in the November election receiving 53 percent of the vote.

The seat is for a two-year term that pays a salary of $71,685 a year.
