On the Agenda: Fire Protection, New Police Vehicle and Principal Hiring Process

Here is a look at what's happening at tonight's meetings.

Two meetings will take place tonight in Fenton as the city council and the Lake Fenton Board of Education will both gather.

The City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the City Hall Council Chambers, 301 South Leroy St.

On the agenda is the contract to provide fire protection to and the possible vote to approve the purchase of a new police vehicle.

Administration has also recommended the board approve the Keepers of the Shiawassee to construct a canoe/kayak launch in .

A vote is also planned to allow the Fenton Freedom Festival Committee to utilize various city parks to conduct the Freedom Festival.

The will host its Committee of the Whole Meeting at 7 p.m. tonight in the Administrative Services Board Room, 11425 Torrey Road.

Much of the agenda is scheduled to include discussion on the high school principal selection process to replaced Lake Fenton High School principal Jerry Kramer, who announced he will retire at the end of the year.

The board of education plans to finalize the principal interview committee, discuss the interview questions and talk about the new principal’s salary.
