Who's Involved in the Proposed $4 Million Project?

Here is a quick look at the participating parties for the Fenton Cornerstone project.

The Cornerstone Development Project is the result of several groups working together.

Who's Involved?

- Property owner of two parcels on LeRoy Street adjacent to Republic Bank property

Fenton Downtown Development Authority - Property owner of Republic Bank site and negotiating body of agreement

Saab Group - Proposed development manager & future property owner

Mansour Realty - Development consultant for DDA, Genesee County development and brokerage firm for 40 years

Stephen A. Auger & Associates - Architects, 17-year full-service architecture, design, planning & interiors firm from Downtown Lake Orion

What they had to say:

“The Cornerstone Building would be an immediate icon for Fenton,” says city of Fenton resident and President of Mansour Realty Jerry Mansour Jr., who's firm helped the Fenton DDA broker the deal. “Not only would it be an icon structurally, but functionally. It could become a centerpiece for where business happens downtown.”

“The biggest thing with this project was preserving the sense of scale,” said architect Stephen Auger. “Dibbleville was built with sixteen- to twenty-foot storefronts, and while this is a larger building, we felt it was important to maintain that downtown rhythm.”

Meet the Saab Group:

• The Saab Group is a family company owned and operated by Fenton residents Khalil Saab and his children Ghassan and Elisabeth.
• Manager of both commercial and residential properties for more than 20 years.
• Managing Genessee County properties such as The Silverton Collection and The Riverbend in Grand Blanc and Lincor Park Shopping Center in Flint Township.

“Being a part of this project is really important to me,” said Ghassan Saab, who would be overseeing the project. “It’s an exciting opportunity to play a role in shaping the future of the town where I live, and likely where my family will be growing up as well.”
