What's With The Water?

Help me with this Fenton water question!

I have been living in this area for a little over 3 months and enjoying it ..... except for the bad tasting water.

Can someone give me the lowdown on this problem? I know from working in Fenton in the past that this is ongoing...not something new.

  Thanks in advance!

I have lived in Fenton for a long time and love the water. We fill water bottles and take it on the go with us.

It tasted like crap the the 12 yrs that I lived there. The new water treatment plant didn't help any but did help by jacking up my water bill. I left and now have way better tasting well water.

All my drinking water is being filtered in order to kill the bad taste. (The stores in this area must make a killing on bottled H2O!)This is City of Fenton water we are talking about. I have done some more checking and found that this is indeed a widespread issue with no resolution on the horizon. I'm not sure where the City is getting their water from, but it's a shame some kind of improvement can't be made!
Apparently, we have contrasting tastes for water (or maybe you are using a well?). Anyway, thank you for your response.

Rod, I too have to filter the water here in Fenton to kill the bad taste. If it isn't the horrible taste we have to deal with, it is the copious amounts of chlorine that we have to ingest. And lets not forget to mention the scale build up that is horrible and ruins all of our appliances that use water (hot water heaters being replaced every 3 yrs, excessive amounts of cleaning supplies, washer, dishwashers, etc). This terrible water costs us more than the huge bill they charge us every 3 months-it is ruining our appliances too!

I too, would be curious to know the answer. I know that we pay outrageous water bills and we don't drink the water. If we fill up our bathtubs, they turn blue and smell like pools. Drinking the water is horrible and I try to not even cook with it. This leads to us paying for water twice - first what comes out of the tap, and then what I have to buy to drink it. Unfortunately, we rent our home and sink purifiers do not fit our sink, otherwise I would invest in one. With a family of seven, investing in a pitcher system like Brita would be ridiculously expensive and take up my whole fridge, as the largest one I have found only holds 5 cups of water. I would need at least 2 filled at all times! It is a problem, and we have taken to filling up large 2 and three gallon jugs at the grocery tore and keeping bottled water all around the house. I only wish our neighborhood would participate in a curbside recycling program.

Baker may be a great trade school for some but just remember that it is not transferable to anyRead More other school or university.

You need to know that if you live around children that you can control your animal. Pitbulls are theRead More most powerful dog that there is. They can jump a 4 foot tall fence. You have to consider would you let your pitbull play with a two year old? There are kids in neighborhoods that play and these dogs can overpower and chew up several adults if it desired to. There are several pitbulls in Fenton and they always snarl and bark aggressively at my 17 month old. Pitbulls seem to dislike wagons and anything on wheels on sidewalks. This is why I despise them. I don't appreciate dogs acting aggressively towards infants and I don't know why anyone would want a dog with the most powerful jaw and meanest temperament of all dogs. These dogs where breed to be vicious, strong and relentless; please don't forget that. Every pitbull owner whose dog chewed up an old lady, a baby, or others always says the same thing " he was the nicest dog, he would lick you to death."

Again, thanks for sharing your opinion. No question that every person should be a responsible petRead More owner; always have their pet under control, no matter what type of animal it is; and socialize it properly.

Thank you Karen, pitbull owners need to take very special care in "socializing" theirRead More animals and take very extreme precautions for their dogs. The average adult can fend off most breeds of dogs accept for pitbulls and children do not stand a chance. Please be aware of the uncontrollable dangers of these dogs.
