A King is Crowned in Lake Fenton Competition
Senior Spencer Quick earns Mr. Lake Fenton honors.
In a night filled with talent, style and knowledge, one senior shined among his classmates and earned a prestigious title.
Spencer Quick won the "Mr. Lake Fenton" contest put on by the school's yearbook class Saturday to help raise money for printing costs.
There was no crown, however, just a Blue Devils stocking cap, along with a $100 prize and five Trillium movie tickets.

The 2011 Mr. Lake Fenton competition was deemed a "successful night" by Nicole Chapman, Lake Fenton yearbook advisor, and organizer of the competition.
There were eight contestants, all juniors and seniors that included, Jon Haggerty, Danny Brodie, James Harvey, Alex Brown, Spencer Quick, Evan Korchnak, Tim Nickels, and Sam Wilson.

The contestants showed off their many talents and style in the show's first round.
Wilson, the only junior in the competition, showed the audience his piano skills by performing I'll Be There by the Jackson 5.
Brodie dedicated a Jack Johnson song to his girlfriend, sophomore Shelby Beckman, and performed it on his guitar.
Nickels and Brown performed a dance together along with two freshman girls.
Harvey danced solo to a mix of R&B songs and Haggerty juggled.
Quick and Korchnak performed magic tricks together.
The contestants also discussed their passions in the questionnaire round.
When asked what law he would like to see passed, Quick said, "Everyone should have health care, to promote world peace."
The competition was judged by three members of the Lake Fenton staff; media specialist Karen Alexander, English teacher Linda Andrada, and retired teacher Jim Allen, as a special guest. The three tallied points based on the performances in three categories; talent, the questionnaire round and overall appearance.
They determined Quick the winner, while Korchnak earned runner-up honors and Wilson took third place.
"It was great to see the kids come out. The production was very well put together, and it was a good way to support the school," Jennie Nelson, a Lake Fenton parent, said of the show. "I'm glad I could come out to support all of the Lake Fenton kids."
